Ari Nykänen – Founder, Problem-Solver, and Friend of the Forest

Behind Silva Vision is a person who knows the forest, the machines – and the everyday reality of fieldwork.
I'm Ari Nykänen, founder of Silva Vision Oy, and my passion is developing solutions that make life easier for professionals where the work really happens: in the machine cabin, in the service hall, or deep in the forest.

My company was born from a simple idea: Could fieldwork be supported in a smarter way – without unnecessary middlemen or delays? The answer was yes – and that's how Silva Vision began. I believe technology should be practical and easy to adopt, not something that requires thick manuals and months of training. 

I have 18 years of experience in the forestry machinery sector, including 2.5 years training forestry professionals in the field, working with technology, from machine workshop tasks to maintenance of forestry machines. Growing up with hands-on field experience, I've been in situations where information and support were exactly the missing link. Now, I want to make sure others have that support – smartly, in real time, and easily accessible.

When I'm not advancing Silva Vision, you'll likely find me behind the controls of a harvester, walking with my dogs, painting fishing lures, or working on gun stocks. I strongly believe in collaboration and always welcome listening to customers' wishes and challenges – that's where the best ideas come from.
